After a series of delays due to the Covid lockdown, The Town & Gown Bar, restaurant, and theatre in Cambridge city centre is now open.
Albion Design were commissioned to carry out the structural design, manufacture, and installation of the balcony structure complete with feature Cast Iron staircase giving access to one end.
During production, the brewery together with their interior designer visited Albion’s factory to inspect the structure prior to finishing and installation giving them the opportunity to tweak one or two things at the last minute.
The whole structure was then dismantled allowing for finishing with a clear lacquer powder coat to give the ‘industrial’ look.
Albion Installed the balcony and stairs to suit the customers program to ensure the bar was ready to open as soon as the lockdown restrictions were eased.
The balcony area is to be used as an intimate dining area and as an elevated DJ stage for future planned music events.
